Blog of the Grateful Bear

ramblings of a freelance panentheist {"all things are in God, and God is in all things"} . . . musings on Emergent spirituality, powerlifting, LGBTQueer issues, contemplative prayer, mysticism, cats, music, healing, and more. I like my coffee and my existentialism dark-roasted.

Communion in the Rubble

My friend Dan Ra has posted a blog entry about last Sunday night's service at The Living Room, an Emergent Christian church that meets at Tilt Coffeehouse in Atlanta. He has included some photos of the communion service we held in an abandoned lot, following a prayer walk through the downtown Atlanta neighborhood of Castleberry Hills. Check out Dan's blog entry.

I'm having an ongoing debate with my lay minister about whether gays should be accepted by God.

What is your position on that?

Read my blog for more of my opinions and questions about faith.

You're asking a gay Christian Sufi if "gays should be accepted by God"?

Interesting question! I don't think any of us, your lay minister included, is in any position to tell God who God should or should not accept.

But to read about my own journey of self-acceptance, here's a recent blog entry with the full story:

P.S.: Cool blog! I see we like several of the same musicians (Bruce Cockburn, Dar Williams, k.d. lang, Sufjan Stevens...)
