Blog of the Grateful Bear

ramblings of a freelance panentheist {"all things are in God, and God is in all things"} . . . musings on Emergent spirituality, powerlifting, LGBTQueer issues, contemplative prayer, mysticism, cats, music, healing, and more. I like my coffee and my existentialism dark-roasted.

Cliché

sitting in a comfy chair in the coffee house
sipping a double-shot espresso
reading the book my book club is reading next
“Thus Spoke Zarathustra: A Book for All and None”

I realize I have become a cliché
the unshaven intellectual reading Nietzsche in a coffee house

that’s OK
I’ve been far worse

"A.S.Z" is so closely connected to the Strauss Music, when I see that phrase I expect Elvis to pop a tums on a Space Ship.
Happy Valentines Day.

Thus Spoke Zarathustra is one of my favorite books. Beyond Good and Evil translates it.

Haha, when you look into the abyss of the empty coffee cup, the cup also looks into you! haha

Can I be part of the "None" (in the book's subtitle)? Nietzsche is full of bitterness, but beneath all that is a life-affirming, healthy, anti-religious fierceness of searching that needs to be heard...

Blessings,
Peter
