Blog of the Grateful Bear

ramblings of a freelance panentheist {"all things are in God, and God is in all things"} . . . musings on Emergent spirituality, powerlifting, LGBTQueer issues, contemplative prayer, mysticism, cats, music, healing, and more. I like my coffee and my existentialism dark-roasted.

Bear in the Mountains

Had a great time at the Gay Spirit Visions Winter Meditation Retreat (Feb. 1-3) in Highlands, North Carolina. Here I am (center), with my friends Donnie (left) and Michael (right), in front of a wall of mountain laurel. The men who attended the retreat were very loving and responsive to the workshop I offered on Sacred Chant and Movement, and the weekend as a whole was very relaxing and spiritually renewing.

Sorry, I missed your Birthday Hamza. I hope you had a wonderful time, Bro.
I need a retreat so badly I can taste it. ;)

Peace,

Sounds great. I only got to go on one retreat, it was at a Trappist monastery - like a kind of vacation, but deep - energizing and relaxing both.

Great Blog I always enjoy the commentary, it is very informative and entertaining.

I was wondering if you or your readers knew a good place to find an easy, simply read place to find out where the candidates stand on global warming.

I saw the earthlab poll and it is obvious that people care but the candidates websites have so much other information it is hard to find what I need with out being preached at. Earthlab.com also has candidate information that’s pretty good: http://www.earthlab.com/articles/PresidentialCandidates.aspx . Does anyone know of another website to find this information? Any other good resources where we I can find out how my candidate votes?

I don't usually let anonymous comments get through, but this one raises a good question. I decided early on that I would support Obama, mostly because of what I've read about him (as well as articles and speeches written by him) in Sojourners and other progressive Christian magazines and websites. So I haven't visited any websites that list the different candidates' positions. If anyone has any suggestions, please post them here.
