Blog of the Grateful Bear

ramblings of a freelance panentheist {"all things are in God, and God is in all things"} . . . musings on Emergent spirituality, powerlifting, LGBTQueer issues, contemplative prayer, mysticism, cats, music, healing, and more. I like my coffee and my existentialism dark-roasted.

Another Wrinkle in Time

I found myself getting teary-eyed again last week as I read about the death of yet another of my heroes. Madeleine L’Engle has passed on, at the age of 88, and she will be sorely missed. My friend Jon Zuck has written an excellent tribute to her at his blog, The Wild Things of God. Check it out.

Addendum, Sept. 22nd ~

Christianity Today has published a beautiful tribute to Madeleine from her friend, the poet Luci Shaw: At the Table with Madeleine.

Indeed she will. I want her to grab another body soon and come back.

(ha--I'm not selfish!)

May God bless her and raise her to the ranks of His beloveds.

And I don't know if you fast, but Ramadan Mubarak to you and your family :)

Ya Haqq!

Her Wrinkle in Time book series were my first favorite books. I remember the internal dream torture chapter - feeling the pulse of a million little kids bouncing their balls on the front step at exactly the same time. And I will never view mitochondria as anything but miraculous.

We lose a great one here.
