Time to Get to Sea
"Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before
coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off -- then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can."
~ from Moby Dick by Herman Melville
I'm leaving tomorrow for my annual pilgrimage to the sea: Tybee Island & Savannah, Georgia. My friend Donnie and I will be at the ocean for most of the week, and I don't have a laptop (yet!) so I won't be blogging. Here's my blog entry about last year's trip to Tybee Island. No agenda, no schedule, other than floating in the ocean, hanging out in coffeehouses, and eating crab cakes.

Have a great time!
One of the greatest places on earth! Enjoy!
You lucky dog! I love Savannah!
Read your post from last year...don't like being a downer, but wish I'd been able to tell you that sharks are most active at dusk and evening, not a good time to float. This year people have been bitten off Hilton Head just a stone's throw from Tybee.
Keep safe out there people. Mother Nature is not always kind and gentle.
We need to start a laptop fund for you. I miss your blog too much!
Hope you enjoyed/are enjoying (whichever it is) your trip.
Have a fabulous time at the Ocean. It really does give gifts.
Have a wonderful time! I love the sea and find it so healing! Blessings to you!
